Abstract: A Manufacturer of a portable motion picture projector asked me some time ago where he could get a steady, solid light source of high brilliancy, evenly distributed over a small area and having a high candlepower with little heat and which is simple and easy to operate and control on either alternating or direct current. Quite a large order, you will agree—an order which to date, has not been filled. However, such an ideal light source is not absolutely necessary as there are several sources available which contain enough of the above qualifications to give quite satisfactory results.
