Abstract: Dual-language soundtracks can fill an important need whenever a film must reach audiences of more than one language. Economical dual-language motion-picture prints can be made by recording two narrow, variable-area soundtracks side-by-side in the area normally occupied by a conventional monophonic track. Such a system requires no changes to the printing or processing procedure. The required special negative can be recorded on either a stereo photographic recorder or a modified monophonic dual-bilateral recorder. The two-language print can be played on either a stereo projector or a modified monophonic projector.
