Abstract: THE merit of a motion picture depends absolutely upon its filming. A poor picture, although it may be shown by a skilled projectionist amid beautiful surroundings to the accompaniment of appropriate music, is still a poor picture; a good picture can undoubtedly gain much by an artistic presentation, but no amount of artistry in projection can make a poorly filmed picture any better than it was when it left the studio.
