Abstract
A Number of contributions to the question of splicing have already been presented to the Society.<sup>1</sup> In particular, at the last convention, Mr. E. J. Denison presented a very valuable paper on “The Importance of Proper Splicing” which has been published in the Transactions of the Society, No. 24. While Mr. Denison's paper covers very fully the ill effects of improper splicing and gives a very good résumé of the conditions which should be fulfilled in making a good splice, it appeared worth while to us in view of the importance of the matter to make a little more intensified study of what might be termed the mechanics of splicing.
