Abstract
The CBC, along with other industry members, is participating in the Digital Television Committee of the Advanced Broadcasting Systems of Canada (ABSOC) Organization, whose prime objective is to coalesce Canadian industry interests on the subject of DYC. The stated objective is to: “to achieve a compatible, interoperable, multiple vendor solution for Digital Video Compression implementation in Canada.” Based on supplier responses to a DYC request for information issued earlier this year, the following conclusions can be made:
