Abstract: Some time ago, we were advised by our legal counsel that certain refinements in the Society's Constitution and Bylaws should be made for the purpose of having them more clearly reflect the fundamental character of the SMPTE as a scientific society. The amended Constitution and Bylaws submitted herewith have been prepared by our legal counsel, the law firm of Donovan Leisure Newton and Irvine, in order to accomplish this purpose.
