Abstract: Electronic Data Processing (EDP) is developing at such a rate that engineers and designers not directly involved have the problem of not knowing the current state of the art. When the system designer desires to automate some process or operation he is faced with an unfamiliar technology; even the technical terms may have different implications when applied to different fields, for example, broadcasting and EDP. The integration of expertise in such different areas requires firm project management. This article describes some of the steps that should be taken to ensure success.
