Abstract: The demand for higher levels of illumination in 16-mm. projection has led to an investigation of the possibilities of improving the efficiency of the optical systems involved. An analysis of spherical and aspheric condensers of various designs is presented to show the best possible combination with an f/1.65 projection lens and the present high-intensity biplane filament type of lamp.
