Abstract
A new lightweight three-Plumbicon® camera for use in camera-recorders and standalone ENC/EFP applications is described. Video signal processing is performed in two custom-integrated, bipolar ICs for each of the three colors. Use of CCDs rather than ultrasonic delay lines for storage of video information makes it possible to change the storage time from NTSC line duration to PAL with a simple switch. All interconnections are made with flexible printed circuit boards directly integrated into the camera's motherboard. Hybrid PC boards are used for the nonvideo processing tasks.
