A Method Using Dielectric Heating for Splicing Motion-Picture Film

Abstract: A practical way of achieving a new high level of splicing strength and performance on motion-picture film is described. The apparatus depends on dielectric heating for its operation. The method does not use cement, but it provides durable and highly reliable splices needing only a very small overlap area. The method should be adaptable to many different splicers.
