Abstract: Switching Central is a multichannel computer-controlled facility which provides monitoring, switching, and control of all Network and local television programming originating in NBC New York. The system is designed to support ten simultaneous channels and is presently equipped for six. All channels are identical and designed to be free-standing and functionally independent of one another.
