Abstract: Photographic processing involves many individual chemical processes, such as assuring adequate quality of chemicals, determining optimum storage conditions for these chemicals before and after solution preparation, assuring the maintenance of standard chemical concentrations, and “trouble shooting.” Illustrations are given showing how the principles of chemistry and chemical engineering applied to the processing of motion-picture film might result in low cost with high photographic quality of the products.
