Abstract: A continuous optical reduction printer for high-volume super-8 release printing from 16mm or 35–32mm internegatives is described. Design features, such as panel-type construction, common-shaft sprockets, air cleaning of the film, printer-output volume, illumination system, light and trim scales, optical lens and mirror system, field uniformity, type of single-speed motor drive, operating controls, constant-torque take-ups, etc., are discussed.
