Abstract
This report, submitted as part of the Progress Committee Report, was presented at the Society's 118th Conference on 19 October 1976. Unfortunately this paper was released for the Progress Report too late for publication in the May 1977 Journal. We are pleased to present it here as an addendum to the Progress Committee Report. A brief outline of the historical background of cinematography in the USSR is given, leading to a discussion of recent developments, particularly those affecting the entire field of cinematography as it was in the Soviet Union during 1976. The report also includes some predictions as to possible future developments.
