Abstract: The Ultra Semi-Scope (USS) system projects a one-frame picture in CinemaScope format with two perforations on 35mm regular film instead of the four perforations in the conventional CinemaScope film. Anamorphosis is not involved in photographing or projecting. The system requires modification of the camera and the projector, for compatible use of either 4- or 2-perforation process films. Optical sound is run at half the usual film speed. Other implications of the USS are outlined.
