Abstract: Because of the magnitude of the coverage, together with extremely tight scheduling, and logistics and maintenance problems, the closed-circuit telecasting of the Ali-Frazier fight was a remarkable success for the medium. Some 369 locations in the United States and Canada and 50 international locations, via satellite, were served. The international broadcasting was a complete success; and of the 1.5 million paid admissions in the U.S. and Canada, only 0.7% failed to receive a picture.
