Abstract: A general description of the function of air conditioning apparatus in the modern film laboratory. A brief history of the development of this type of equipment, from the old rack-and-tank method of developing to the present highly developed machine methods is followed by an outline of the type and application of equipment used in the various phases connected with the progress of the film through the laboratory. Elimination of dust, accurate control of drying schedules, accurate control of temperatures and humidities in the drying cabinets and wash rooms, accurate control of developing solutions all combine to make a finished product of the highest quality every day in the year regardless of outside atmospheric conditions. A brief description of the details of the equipment is given, accompanied by pictures.
