Abstract: There is an apparent need and trend toward reducing the amount of electric power required for illumination in motion picture production. Although the interest in this situation extends through the entire industry, the greatest economic significance probably concerns the smaller nontheatrical producers, many of whom are working with direct 16-mm film. For present purposes, this report considers only the problem of small sets and field work.
