- Abstract
- This article discusses the development of various methods of designing models for CCD solid-state imagers for use in a vidicon camera design, taking into account all the key parameters allowing the accurate prediction of performance in low-contrast situations. The design of such models must incorporate all the cascaded MTF degrading factors and noise sources which may exist in an actual system. The effects of fixed pattern noise on solid-state imager performance is also discussed and a comparison made with its effect on camera-tube imagers.
