- Abstract
- Digital video effects have long been used in compositing video images. However, limitations in tracking motion recorded on an element can be a handicap to creativity. The Import feature on Kaleidoscope™ provides a path to directly track motion created on another device. To use this feature effectively, an understanding of the way Kaleidoscope positioning parameters relate to real-world parameters is required. This analysis shows how a program might be created that converts parameters such as camera pan/tilt angles or changes in object position into Kaleidoscope parameters. Such a program would allow Kaleidoscope transformations to automatically track motion recorded on an external device.
