Abstract: The widespread use of negative and positive color films now available to the motion-picture industry has introduced new, more complicated and exacting control requirements in the film-processing laboratories. In step with this trend, two new densitometers have been developed. One instrument is intended to provide precise control of the new color picture processes while the other provides diffuse density measurements of black-and-white, silver sulfide, and silver-image-with-dye sound tracks. The instruments, their application and performance are described.
