- Abstract
- The NHK Technical Research Laboratories, at an exhibition in June 1979, demonstrated an experimental digital videotape recorder, built to conform with the SMPTE C format. The digital VTR has the same tape consumption as the conventional analog VTR. This report describes design considerations for the development of the digital VTR and the technologies applied in the digital prototype VTR.
