- Abstract
- Today's large, sophisticated production switchers are complicated enough to tax the ability of the operator to fully utilize their capabilities. The operation of both production and post production switching systems can be simplified with the use of automated controls based on microprocessors. Such a system — for the automation of production switching — is also called a production switching automation system (PSAS). The system should greatly simplify production and post production operation. Design objectives, development of the design, and operation of the system are described. Finally, future trends for automated switching equipment are indicated.
