Abstract: President Crabtree: Our Society chose to convene in New York City this fall with the deliberate object in view of effecting a closer relationship between ourselves and those who are producing motion pictures. New York City is destined to become increasingly important as a production center and it is to the interest of our members to become as fully acquainted as possible with the problems of the producers. On the other hand, it is to the interest of the producer that he keep abreast of the achievements of the scientists and technicians, who, in the first place, made motion pictures possible, who made the shadows talk, and upon whom the industry will have to rely to an increasing extent to feed the insatiable appetite of the public for something different in entertainment.
