Abstract
V. K. Zworykin came to the United States more than 60 years ago. In a long and fruitful life, he has gained worldwide fame and acclaim and has been honored by his peers with many awards and decorations. Over a hundred U.S. Patents have been issued to his name and the list of his published writings is most numerous and impressive. From his first television camera tube and his famous meeting with RCA's Sarnoff, to the birth of the Iconoscope and the Kinescope, and all that was to follow, a vivid description of his life's work is given.
