Abstract
In order to investigate the technical feasibility of a digital composite/component interface using a line-locked sampling frequency, a set consisting of an experimental NTSC digital decoder with a nonadaptive two-dimensional comb filter and an encoder operating at a data rate of 912 samples per line was realized as a part of the component-coded digital VTR system which was demonstrated at the First SMPTE Demonstration of Component-Coded Digital Video. Some technical aspects and experimental results are given. Other technical aspects are still under investigation.
