Printer Control by Means of Calculated Trimmer Corrections

Abstract: The trimmer changes required to compensate for variations in processing or print film batches can be calculated from measured differences in density between a test print and the laboratory standard. To obtain reliable trimmer corrections, a method is given here which takes into consideration the relation between density and trimmer changes as a function of density of the print. All calculations can be done with a programmable pocket calculator.
