- Abstract
- Modern CSI (compact source iodide) and CID (compact iodide, daylight) lamps have proved to be efficient sources of light for outside location television and film work. They are smaller, lighter, and cooler than comparable tungsten lamps, and require far less power. Because of these factors, the BBC found them to be a practical solution to lighting the immense area of St. Paul's Cathedral for the wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana. This paper describes the problems and solutions in arranging the lighting for this event.
