Abstract: It is the purpose of proper lighting to mold the dimensions, transmit the plane, and give to motion pictures the necessary mood and beauty. The screen image is a modified light reflection of reality, and light is the main source of photographic construction. This paper deals with the all important necessity of successful production, the exposition of lighting as a method. The theory and its application in practice are discussed. The employment of the principles of illusion in achieving photographic presentation is considered.
