Abstract: The day is coming when television will be a basic distribution medium for the motion picture industry. Equipment requirements for this purpose may well be different and more exacting than those currently accepted for television broadcasting. A review of the present state of the art, from a description of modern television equipment and consideration of some of the factors involved in adapting television for motion picture use, enables one to make an “educated guess” as to the potential needs of Hollywood in the light of what is now possible.
