Abstract: A need was felt for a reasonably priced, quickly accessible, self-contained automatic film processor for television stations and small laboratories. This led to the design of the Bridgamatic machine which embodies standard commercial design plus a continuous overdrive, tension-relieving devices, straight-line film flow and ease of handling. 16mm and 35mm negative-positive and reversal models are described. The add-a-unit idea was adopted, so the bare machine can later be equipped with whatever refinements are desired.
