Abstract: This paper presents the problem of obtaining relatively large photographs in sequence at frame rates up to 50/sec. Design characteristics required for a camera suitable for obtaining photographic data of missile launchings and flights with negatives 2 1/4 in. wide and 2 1/2 or 5 in. long are enumerated. The intermittent film transporting mechanism and shutter system used in the solution of this problem are described.
