Abstract: A compact optical system has been designed to implement a field/line sequential color camera with a view toward videotelephone use. The basis of the system is a spectral separation prism, using internal dichroic reflectors, which is used with a pickup tube provided with a new form of composite fiber optic/clear glass faceplate. This configuration allows a number of adjacent identical images to be brought into focus in the same plane at the sensitized target surface.
