The world of media is no exception. The Internet has caused us to think about the words “dynamic” and “media” in entirely different ways. Viewers now have access to whatever they want, whenever they want. Advertising, long a mainstay of the media industry, is no exception. Advertisers expect the right ad to be shown to the right person, on the right device. This includes changing their minds about what they want to advertise, when, and where, right up to the time that the viewer sees the ad. Sounds like a nightmare, doesn't it? Well, it used to be. Fortunately, we now have SMPTE's Broadcast Exchange Format (BXF), which is perfect for this task. We'll look at real-world cases in which BXF is enabling dynamically changing delivery of content, right up to the time the viewer sees it.
