    "abstract": "Computer-generated holography (CGH) is an immersive next-generation display technology with exciting prospects for television and cinema. By modulating laser light via a spatial light modulator (SLM), a holographic display can project a three-dimensional (3D) scene into the viewer’s eyes. The resulting image is the closest to a real-world scene representation that can be created. When viewed, all physiological as well as psychological depth cues are preserved. This article provides a brief introduction to CGH and proposes a suitable workflow for high-quality hologram (HQH) delivery. CGH offers a potential scene-referred and wide color gamut display system, in such a way that can easily be integrated with existing methods of content production. Also highlighted are some potential future standards for maximum cross-compatibility to ensure that display features such as multiview, semitransparencies, and occlusion can be utilized to their fullest extent.",
