With modern telecine techniques, a wide range of contrast in films can be handled successfully. Electronic enhancement of the color saturation in the reproduced picture is now in operational use. Despite these improvements, it is desirable that television films should have characteristics specially suited to the viewing conditions and contrast-handling ability of the television system.",
