    "abstract": "Studies on the fundamental nature of cellulose ester base photographic film have been continued with several significant conclusions. Confidence in the Arrhenius treatment of property data has been increased because linear relationships have been obtained, after four years' incubation, which agree with previously reported experiments of shorter duration. Long-duration studies of polyester base films verify the long life of this material, and also show the beneficial effects of lower storage humidities on polyester film stability. A survey of films in film archives revealed that cellulose ester base films manufactured in the 1930s and 1940s may still have excellent properties, indicating the importance of storage environment and suggesting possible differences in manufacture. The expected absorption of acetic acid by undegraded film from adjacent degraded film was demonstrated.",
