In 50-Hz countries, 24 frame/sec film is run at 25 frames/sec making the transfer simple. In 60-Hz countries, the problem is more complicated requiring some means to implement a 3–2 pulldown sequence; that is, one frame of film is transferred to three consecutive video fields and the next film frame is transferred to two video fields. The 3–2 sequence has been accomplished mechanically, optically, and electronically using frame stores.
