    "abstract": "The CinemaScope system for the presentation of motion pictures in existent theaters has resulted from major technological advances along two facets of engineering: optics and sound reproduction. The optical aspect has given rise to the wide-screen picture. The sound reproduction aspect has yielded stereophonic sound. In the consideration of the subject the optics shall be considered the dominant factor although the sound, the screen, the film and the projection equipment are to be reviewed.",
