    "abstract": "The Laser cathode ray tube (Laser-CRT) is a high-power light and image source for application in projection display, telecine, and film recording. In a Laser-CRT, a semiconductor laser faceplate replaces the phosphor. A scanning electron beam impinges upon the faceplate and light is produced at each point along a raster by laser action. The Laser-CRT combines the best of CRTs and lasers: the high-resolution, multisync, multiformat reliability of CRTs, with the rich saturated colors, wide gamut, and high contrast ratio available with lasers.",
