For content mastered on film and transferred at 24 frames/sec, the conversion to 1080p24 is transparent. For content previously transferred at 30 frames/sec and subsequently processed, the conversion to 1080p24 becomes much more challenging. This process is complicated by such factors as electronic editing, vari-speed, video effects, video titles, fades, film compositing, and animation. Proper handling of these “exceptions” is essential to maintaining high quality through the conversion process. Also challenging is proper conversion of 25 frame/sec film to 1080p24.
