The digital aspect directly implies nonphysical media such as broadband wired or wireless networks as a transport option. The definition of quality image delivery is that the digital bits sent are identical to the bits received. “Live” digital streaming images played or stored sequentially that cannot be resent in the event of an error have a different set of requirements than content comprised of image files. Quality transport of content files is achieved with reliable file transfer protocols, a number of which address different networks and environments. Terrestrial networks allow for standard IP transport protocols; satellite and wireless networks require different types.
