    "abstract": "Recovery of silver from fixing baths and consequent prolongation of the useful life of solution can be accomplished by simple electrolysis using currents of 150–175 ma. These methods are ineffective in an installation processing large quantities of film because silver deposited in the solution soon exceeds the recovery rate. Various physical-chemical expedients, combined with electrolysis, were tried, these being such as would allow the use of higher currents while preserving the integrity of the thiosulfate ion. These tests have led to the development of a small, flexible and efficient silver recovery unit which makes possible significant savings in chemicals and recovered silver.",
