    "abstract": "A small microphone boom having the versatility and operating controls of all location and other booms is described. The rear end of conventional booms extends substantially beyond the outside of their dollies and the pivot mast protrudes well above the top of the boom pole limiting the overhead clearance. The small boom solves this condition by being so designed and proportioned that with a minimum of overhead clearance and rear end overhang, and together with its special perambulator, it can be used on smaller sets where it is necessary to place the boom in a corner, or to play the transmitter up close to a low ceiling to keep it out of the scene. The perambulator frame telescopes to keep within the limits of the boom and to permit easy handling and transportation.",
