    "abstract": "An idea was conceived of designing and building a number of kits to add magnetic sound-recording facilities to a standard photographic recorder. It is believed that by starting magnetic recording in this manner it will enable the studios to obtain some practical experience without the expense of a complete film-handling mechanism and yet will not interfere with photographic sound-recording production work. The construction of the mechanical and electrical components of the kit and the operational features are discussed as well as the performance characteristics that can be expected of this system.",
