    "abstract": "The use of motion picture machines on board vessels and at stations of the Navy has been permitted for several years, but only recently has it been decided to furnish these machines as part of the regular standard Navy equipment. More specifically these machines were previously supplied through contributions from the individuals of a ship's crew or in some other manner from their own funds. Thus, whichever machine had the services of the most persuasive salesmen or by some other way most appealed to the fancy of the individual making the purchase, that machine was the one which any particular unit of the Navy used.",
