    "abstract": "The attendance at the 50th Semi-Annual Convention at the Hotel Pennsylvania in New York was remarkably good and no great difficulty was experienced in securing papers of good quality and interest in spite of the National Emergency. These facts show the wisdom of the decision of the Board of Governors some time ago to continue to hold the usual two conventions per year. On succeeding pages of this issue of the Journal will be found the program of papers as actually followed at the sessions.",
