    "abstract": "Civilian defense involves many technical problems in the solution of which the highly specialized talent of the SMPE may be of great assistance. Theaters in England continue to operate during bombings and it is planned to continue their operation in the United States, due to the important part which they play in maintaining morale. New responsibilities have been placed upon theater management, in the preparation of their theaters and the training of their staffs to meet the new emergencies. The Motion Picture Theater Industry has risen to its new responsibilities.",
