    "abstract": "The various technical phases of theater operation, grouped under the headings (1) projection, (2) sound, (3) light, power, and heal, (4) building maintenance, are discussed. Particular attention is paid to means of effecting savings in the cost of operation, such as 'by properly choosing the type and voltage of lamps; burning the proper size carbons in the proper manner; keeping lamps, reflectors, optical systems, and screens free from dust and dirt; selecting the proper kind of fuel for the heating system, and properly firing it; paying close attention to the maintenance of the theater building, particularly the roof, a rain hazard; and the various fire hazards.",
