    "abstract": "This paper describes the development and implementation of a color management system at Warner Bros. Feature Animation (WBFA). The need for consistent and repeatable color matches between reflective artwork, scanned images viewed on monitor displays, and film print is explored, while presenting the various practices currently in place. The paper illustrates how the color management system was implemented, in accordance with the International Color Consortium's framework, and describes how it was introduced into a production environment. Results from measured data, demonstrating the benefits of the system, are presented.",

Ramamurthy is currently the manager of software engineering at Warner Bros. Feature Animation, with development interests in color management systems, imaging and color algorithms, and workflow. He is a co-author of IT7.328-1995, the ANSI standard on Image Evaluation for Projection Systems and has published several papers on Machine Vision and Image Processing.",

        "bio": "Lemuel L. Davis received a M.S. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign in 1978. He joined Hughes Aircraft Co. in 1978, where he developed microprocessor-based control systems for realtime applications and automated testing systems. In 1981, he joined the Walt Disney Co. developing systems used for animation production. In 1985, Davis proposed the Computerized Animation Production System (CAPS) and was the technical lead for that project through 1990. From 1990 through 1993, he worked at the Naval Command and Control Center in San Diego developing scientific visualization systems. From 1993 through 1995, he was director of technology for Amblimation in London, England. Davis is currently the chief scientist at Warner Bros. Feature Animation with interests in color management systems, computer-assisted animation, imaging algorithms, and production management systems. He was a recipient of a technical Academy Award given for CAPS in 1992.",

He holds a Diplom Ingenieur degree in computer science from the Technical University of Vienna and a Master's Degree in computer and systems engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y. His achievements include scanning, color correction, and photo retouching applications for various platforms. In August 1994, Herbert founded Color Solutions. The company's main objective is to bring color management tools to the end user. In September 1994, Color Solutions introduced ColorBlind, the first software application that allowed end users to profile all their input and output devices. In December 1997, Color Solutions was sold to Imaging Technologies Corp., a company focusing on digital imaging products. Herbert now heads the research and development group in charge of color technology. He is a member of the Society of Optical Engineering and has published several papers on various aspects of color management.",
